A flood of hope

In Genesis 6 & 7 we see a very well known bible story of Noah and the Ark. But thinking about these passages we often overlook the fact that it is probably one of the saddest stories in the bible. I mean think about it. EVERYONE, except Noah and his family, drowned in the flood. It is devastating to think about natural disasters that take the lives of people whether it is 1 or 200 or more. To imagine, a world full of people all dying is devastating.

The story doesn’t end there. And neither should we stop in this place of pain and despair.

What is amazing about this tragic story is that it is also one of the greatest stories of hope!

Hope that the Lord God is there. He seeks to save EVERYONE who is willing to turn from their sinful ways and follow Him.

It says in John 3:16-19 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son (Jesus). This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

As we see in the story of Noah, only those we have chosen to live for God were saved! The same is true with Heaven. Only those who have chosen to ask Christ Jesus to reign and rule our hearts and lives will be saved.

Don’t be like the people in Noah’s story Gen. 6:5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

Let Christ into your heart to clean out the wickedness and give you a new nature.

Don’t Be Left Out of the boat when the waves of death flood over your life.
