I was pruning a giant bush in my father-in-laws yard the other day. We started trimming little bits here and there, but never seemed to make a difference in this unruly mess. After awhile we climbed inside and stared cutting away at the massive branches. Those branches were so out of control they weren’t letting any sunlight to the middle so that more life could grow. As we cut away my father-in-law kept saying “we have to get the sunlight to the middle.” The bible talks about pruning. As I was thinking about it; that is what God is saying when we allow Him to prune us. We have many things in our lives that have grown out of control and they are keeping the Son out. But as we allow Christ to cut away the things that have taken over our live, we will have a new life in Him.
