We would love to answer your questions

Who are you?

Who are you, is a common question. It is often asked when meeting a new person or going to a new place. Most often when people ask this question they expect a person’s name maybe a job title something along those lines, but there is much more to that question than your job title.

We all should ask ourselves this question too. However, when we ask ourselves we need to focus on the deeper meaning of who we are. When I stop to ask myself this question I need to rely on Scripture to help me understand, Who am I?

  1. I’m am a Creation. Psalm 139:13-14,

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

It important to know that you are a creation, because being a creation is a foundation. Everything that was created has a purpose. Whether something was created on purpose on it was an accident there is always a purpose that can be found for it.

Creation = Propose.

And what God has created He has a purpose for. Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
  1. I am a child of God. Romans 8:15,

So, you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

This world is dark and terrible. It is only through the miraculous working of Jesus’ blood that takes away sin that anyone can ever have hope. His death and resurrection made a way for everyone to become reborn into the family of God. This new birth is an adoption out of the birthright of sin and slavery and into the Holy family of God where He gives freedom, truth, hope, and love.

  1. I am a person of character and integrity.

I love what C.S. Lewis said about integrity.

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

Speeding is something many people do. However, when they are being followed by a police car, those same people will drive the speed limit or below. Following the speed limit when they are being watched is following the law, but not living in integrity. Having integrity and a moral character is only achievable when Christ is Lord in one’s life. Don’t get me wrong…there are many, many great people in the world. They do awesome things to help others and the world, but integrity is doing the right thing even when NO ONE is watching. Many of these great people would give up money, time and their lives for others and this is a great thing, but what they do in the quietness of their hearts is what character is built on. The way to truly be a person of character and integrity is to live a Spirit led life. Jesus said in John 13:35,

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

As a disciple of Christ, the actions that people see will show God’s love. The only way to show God’s love to others is through the daily process of seeking to be like Christ. The love that is shown to others when you are leading a Spirit led life will also transform your private life. But love isn’t the only fruit that will come when you are truly a person of character and integrity. Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

This is who I am… who are you? Or who do you want to be?

No matter what you have done or what anyone has done to you, you can become a person of purpose, family, and integrity.

God bless!
